MAYF is a South African organisation established in 2014 that equips young people, especially from underserved communities, with internationally recognised diving qualifications and essential aquatic safety skills, preparing them for careers in the Blue Economy.
What is the MSDA Master Diver Program?
The MSDA Master Diver Program is MAYF’s flagship training pathway. It provides structured, progressive diving education aligned with international standards and leads to the prestigious Master Diver qualification.
Who can apply for the program?
The programme is primarily designed for young people from historically disadvantaged communities, including those from rural areas and township schools, many of whom may have little to no prior exposure to swimming or ocean environments.
Do I need prior swimming or diving experience?
No. The programme is designed to support beginners. Participants are guided from basic swimming competency through to advanced diving certifications.
What qualifications will I receive?
Participants earn internationally recognised certifications aligned with Scuba Schools International standards, including:
